SoCal Theme Parks With Cool Thrill Rides

There is no place better vacation destination than Southern California if you are a lover of thrill rides. In fact, two of the coolest theme parks for coaster enthusiasts can be found in the Los Angeles area. No, Disneyland is not one of them, although it (and its adjacent sister park Disney’s California Adventure) does offer some exciting action rides worthy of a visit.

The two parks that come to mind when speaking of roller coasters are Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott’s Berry Farm As a means to compete more effectively with the Disneyland Resort, one Southern California vacation writer notes that these two theme parks have invested a tremendous amount of cash in developing their thrill rides over the years.

Magic Mountain is crazy with wild coasters; the place is lousy with thrill rides. Of course some in your group may not be roller coaster fanatics, and there are many other rides and activities to be enjoyed, as you can learn at the SoCal Guru website.

Knott’s Berry Farm also has really focused on thrill rides, although they offer Camp Snoopy, Ghost Town and many other fun attractions and themed areas within the park. We have talked to employees who can confirm that several of the roller coasters at Knott’s will push you to the limit of comfort.

One place at Knott’s Berry Farm that you don’t want to miss is the World-famous Chicken Dinner Restaurant. It is a landmark, serving thousands of dinners weekly since the Great Depression years. You’ll find useful information, tips and recommendations for enjoying Knott’s Berry Farm at the SoCal Guru site. The site covers hotels near the park, and provides useful information about other theme parks and vacation opportunities in SoCal.

You can learn about the other Los Angeles-area theme parks, namely the Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. You’ll find some fun thrill rides at other parks, but they don’t stack up to what they offer at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I hope this is helpful if you love coasters!

Recharable Electric Razors Publicized as the Greatest

Seeing TV advertisements for mens electric razors is like watching a mystery film. You never know what the latest and greatest feature is going to be. The Shick commercial claims that their make has the finest feature of revolving heads that will conform to even the coarsest of faces. It will glide over your face and cut every hair close because of the rotating blades. Come over to the best electric razor page.

Another make will declare their machine will cut closer than any other shaver because it has six blades that will pick up the beard higher and cut more of the beard than any other brand. I get tickled because I wonder how high a beard can be lifted before the skin is cut along with the beard. I can just see the advertisement where the guy shaving comes away with such a neat beard that he doesn’t have a face anymore.

I also get a kick out of those who tout that their razor is convenient and water-resistant. They show a man driving his car and shaving while he stares into the rear view mirror. I wonder, about him seeing an on-coming vehicle. Then of course, you have the guy in the shower happily singing while his sleek new-fangled shaver is cutting his beard. I often wonder if there is ever a short in the shaver. Does the man get a shock when the water hits his face.

One market the advertisers seem to forget is the women’s market. I have seen very few commercials that tout shavers for ladies to use. This is a big market that is not being tapped by the main brands. My wife loves her new Norelco electric shaver because it does a great job of cutting her hair without cutting herself.

Portable Air Conditioners or Central Air Conditioning?

Even though these are tough economic times many of us try to maintain or improve our lifestyle while, at the same time, cutting costs. Central air conditioning units can be expensive to purchase, operate and maintain.

An often overlooked solution is a portable air conditioning unit. They are much less expensive and are a very versatile appliance to use in your home. After all, it is not economical to use a large amount of electricity in order to keep all rooms in the house air conditioned throughout the summer, when quite often some rooms are hardly used.

Portable air conditioning units can be moved into the kitchen at meal times, into the lounge when relaxing in the evening and moved into the bedroom at night. They are comforting low-maintenance home appliances that can serve the cooling needs of a room for many years at a relatively low price. They can easily be sored away when not in use.

Portable air conditioner units range from $100 to $1,500 with most of them in the range of $250-$600. Lower priced air conditioner units often have manual controls while higher priced units may include a dehumidifier or a heater. These units often come with a window bracket and exhaust hose for easy installation and venting of hot air to insure proper cooling. They save energy compared to a central air conditioner because you are able to target only the area you want cooled with a portable air conditioner.

It hould be noted that you will have to keep these units next to a window to allow the hot air to be vented to the outside. They have a special exhaust tube that is used which goes out of the window.

Portable air conditioners come with energy ratings on them that show how energy efficient they are. In order to save on electricity it is a good idea to go with units that have higher ratings. To find out more about Portable Air Conditioner Units visit Portable Air Conditioner reviews.

Here’s How to Really Juice Up Your Life

When shopping for the highest quality juice you are able to make in your kitchen and drink with your family, you ought to select the top quality juice machines first.

The possibilities you can enjoy when purchasing a quality juice extractor are virtually infinite. Several manufacturers have filled the appliance section with such a number of distinctive models that it might be possible that you are going to find the one that fits your standards. For folks looking for a large, sturdy juicer, you can think about the Waring JEX328 400 Watts Juicer.

The Waring Pro packs a massive 850-watt motor that works out to twice the juicing potential of the majority of the juicers being sold. Because of this capability, you are certain to get the most from your juicing ingredients, minus the gratuitous throwing out of delicious pulp that still has much of the juice in it. The Waring Pro Juice Extractor employs a centrifugal force mechanism which could be used not simply for fruits and vegetables, but additionally for wheat grass too. For customers whose household has assorted preferences in juices, this juicer is definitely recommended.

In terms of first impressions, this appliance seriously seems that it is a heavy weight. The outside is made with brushed stainless steel and accented with black plastic. You will discover just a lone switch on the panel although the motor of the Waring Pro Juice Extractor can operate in high and low speeds. If your kitchen is somewhat smaller in size, this juice extractor may not be ideal. The Waring JEX328 400 Watts Juicer is very large – standing at 13 inches tall, and 10 inches in width– so you must have lots of more area on your kitchen counter.

On top of that, Waring’s big juicer is able to contain as much as six cups of liquid in its extract canister and around 10 cups of masticated pulp in the pulp cup. The feeding tube is equally large and that point is considered by consumers as a definite plus. Most juicers usually include tiny feeding tubes so that you are required to carry out the job of chopping up the foodstuff into slender pieces that can fit inside the juicer’s entryway. The Waring Pro Juice Extractor can happily consume whole tomatoes, entire carrots, and even small uncored apples.

Another positive point is the two-speed motor inside the Waring Pro. Since not all foods are created equal, a juice extractor ought to be safe to use even on softer fruits like bananas. Still the motor must just as easily be tough enough to slice through more substantial loads like turnips or carrots. While juicing with the Waring Pro, you can choose to use low or high levels of speed depending on the fruit or vegetable you need to extract.

The motor in the Waring Pro juice extractor is powerful and so it might be the most effective in making high quality juice. You need the speed in order to be certain that the majority of the vitamins and minerals in the fruit or vegetable are still part of the extract that you are drinking. The downside to to this power and speed is that there is a bit of noise any time you prepare juice in the house.

For the most part, the Waring Juicer is okay to use; particularly if yours is a large family. Just be certain that you can spare the space and possibly that you use earplugs whenever you are juicing away.

Your SEO Linking Strategies Will Determine Your Success

Write book, want reader; have website, want visitor.

For this to happen, your website has to be a prominent landmark on the search engine landscape. This SEO does for you. SEO services use leverage like link baiting, link building and social media marketing to increase the visibility of your site. In each of these tools, the content is crucial.

The content written for link baiting should be attractive enough to hook the visitor like a fish on a tackle. Perhaps a “must visit this summer” or ‘penny vacations this summer’ is a better bait than a mundane ‘places to visit this summer’. How can a visitor wanting to travel this summer not click on a link such as these?

Link building, on the other hand, involves quality content to lead the visitor to your site from other relevant links. For instance, if you sell cell phones a visitor may come from a link that says something like “cell phone accessories link exchange” that’s found on another website.

Remember, there’s no set rule for the length of a quality link. If you sell shopping carts for websites you may have a link that says “web templates with shopping cart” or if you sell search engine optimization services the link may be short and sweet, such as “seo service plans“.

Social media marketing does what it says – it promotes your content on social media websites like Yahoo Buzz and others. And if internet reports are to be believed, these social sites send visitors in droves to your site.

So now you are popular and your PR (page ranking) will probably be raised by the search engines. Google ranks pages from 0/10 to 10/10, in order of increasing importance. It is also indicative of the number of incoming quality links that page has; it is, to put it simplistically, a good page. A good page rank is like a school grade – you feature high on the list of selected candidates at universities, in this case the search engine. However, you are not allowed to rest on your laurels. There is an update every three months and your page rank may go up or down, depending on how well connected you are.

Also be aware that some people throw up issues of ethics in the SEO business. There is much talk about exploitation of search engines. However, another group of people rubbish this and believe that a search engines cannot be manipulated. So if your website is flagging, hire an efficient SEO service today that will typically work in accordance with search engine regulations and webmaster guidelines. You can buy a service to suit your pocket, or even avail installment plans. An important thing to remember, though, is that the results will take a few months coming, post search engine optimization.

Accessible and Exciting Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok may be the most vibrant destination in South-East Asia. Its charm is accessible to anyone who is not put off by its busy atmosphere. Bangkok demands that visitors dive in and enjoy the lifestyle of South-East Asia.

Bangkok is a captivating, fascinating and dynamic city with countless places to see, terrific shopping opportunities, a diverse and exciting nightlife, and thousands of restaurants. Since traffic is usually standing still, it is better to take the Skytrain and remain above street level. Even there, expect crowded platforms full of people shoving to board the cars.

Siam’s new beginning.
Large parts of Thailand fell under Burmese rule during the eighteenth century. After the destruction of the former Thai capital, Ayutthaya, a handful of men under the leadership of General Tak Sin went in search of a new place to establish the government of the kingdom. In 1772, they settled on Thonburi, a small town on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. The little town was built around an important temple. The site was well protected by the river and hastily erected land walls. Tak Sin expanded the temple complex into the royal temple of Wat Arun, in honour of the goddess Aruna. Wat Arun survives today as the landmark of Bangkok.

An inglorious end.
Tak Sin ruled the Kingdom of Siam with an iron fist for ten years. Years of war transformed him into a merciless despot. He saw himself as Buddha’s successor, and demanded to be worshipped as a god. This led to rebellion and to his execution on 6 April 1782. In accordance with time-honoured custom, he was placed in a sack and beaten to death, because royal blood could not be allowed to spill on the earth.

A city of temples.
Following Tak Sin’s death, Bangkok was founded anew as a different city on the opposite bank of the river. King Rama I used the old capital of Ayutthaya as a model for the construction of his new residence. There he built the Royal Palace and the Royal Temple of Wat Phra Kaeo, named after the statue of the Emerald Buddha, which Rama commanded be brought here from Wat Arun. Today, this is Thailand’s most revered image of Buddha. The area around the Royal Palace is the historic centre of present-day Bangkok, Canals, called khlongs, used to wind through and around the new capital, and much of the city’s commerce took place directly on the water. Nearly all of the khlongs were filled in during the twentieth century to allow for the expansion of the city.

All of Bangkok’s busy streets and wide boulevards were originally canals. The first bridge over the Chao Phraya River, the Memorial Bridge, was dedicated in 1932, joining Thonburi with the constantly expanding city on the opposite bank. The last of the khlongs with their colourful floating markets can still be found in Thonburi.

The face of the Bangkok metropolitan district, known as Krung Thep Mahanakhon in the Thai language, was mostly modernized in the 1980s, when an explosion of construction of high-rise buildings and skyscrapers forever altered the cityscape. The Skytrain now weaves its way through a concrete and steel jungle, with only the occasional glimpse of a golden stupa or ornately decorated palace to remind the visitor of Bangkok’s glorious past.

Growing Edible Fruit And Veg In Your Garden

Over the last few years home gardening has become an increasingly popular past-time and hobby. In fact, studies show that home gardening is at an all time high in Wales right now. In the USA 8 out of 10 households take part in some type of home gardening activity. Obviously from the number of people that are doing it, home gardening is one of the most popular recreational activities in country.

Most people that try their hand at home gardening plant flowers; at least they start out planting flowers anyway. Roses will probably be the first thought into any gardeners mind, but roses will take extra time and work, and should probably be left to those who have gardened before. When planting flowers many choices are available, such as bulbs, perennials, and annuals.

Growing your own fresh fruit and veg. Perhaps the best thing about edibles is the reward of eating them. The list of fruit and vegetables that home gardeners can grow at home is endless. Some of the most common edible plants in the vegetable arena are, potatoes, peas, corn, carrots, squash, and cucumber. Many gardeners opt for fruits, such as, watermelons, tomatoes, peaches, plums, apples, pears, and apricots. Small fruits, such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries usually require less work and less space, making them much more feasible for home gardening. The growing of herbs, most often used as spices in cooking, are growing in popularity every day as they can be grown on window sills; some of the most grown include basil, thyme, oregano, parsley, and cilantro. One of the most important things to watch for when planting edibles is insects and disease, after all, you don’t want to miss out on the feast you will get to enjoy from healthy plants.

There is not much difference between home gardening and gardening anywhere else. Plants still need to be planted in a good location. The plants still need water and they still need the same nutrients. Home gardening should not make anyone to get nervous. If you do decide to try homing gardening and finding out that you don’t have a green thumb, do not get discouraged. Get some information, visit a good garden store and read up on gardening, and try it again the next planting season.

Many people do not know it, but landscaping is a form of home gardening. Landscaping covers many different areas and forms of gardening. You can even classify mowing your lawn as landscaping! Keeping in the line of grasses, landscaping nearly always involves decorative grasses, and the great thing about them is they don’t take much work for upkeep. Types of grass include monkey grass, pampas, buffalo grass, flame grass, and ornamental millet. Landscaping is not just limited to plant life, but also includes anything done to a yard for decoration, such as adding rocks or stones, putting a small pond, statutes, or a waterfall.

The History of Goebel Figurines

Like so many innovative and lucrative ideas the M. I. Hummel line of Goebel figurines started off simply with one person’s passion. Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel, a Franciscan Sister, was also a gifted artist. She loved making drawings of country children. She eventually had the drawings printed as art cards. Goebel, a porcelain manufacturer in Germany took note of the art cards in the 1930s. The world was in political turmoil and Franz Goebel felt lovers of porcelain works would respond to Sister Hummel’s innocent theme. Sister Hummel worked hand in hand with Goeble overseeing her artwork as each artistic endeavor was turned into beautiful porcelain figurines. She would personally approve each and every porcelain piece. The Hummel line of Goebel figurines were an immediate success in Europe. It didn’t take long for these pieces to attract the attention of American soldiers stationed in Germany.

First established in 1871, Goebel started out by making children’s marbles and slate pencils. Even though the owners’ vision always included porcelain figurines, they lacked the money to produce them. Eight years later, the owners fired up their first kilns and produced dinnerware and Goebel figurines. But it was the Hummel figurines that changed Goebel history and helped make them the huge company they became.

Unfortunately Sister Hummel met an early death due to tuberculosis in 1937 at the age of 46. She was a prolific artist and had created art cards that Goebel continued to use. The company worked with an Artistic Board at the convent where Sister Hummel lived to ensure that her vision continued to flourish through their Hummel line of Goebel figurines.

If you’re lucky you can still find some of these amazing Goebel figurines at auctions and yard sales. Check the bottom as there are definitive identification marks. Most figurines will include Sister Hummel’s signature and a Goebel trademark. Some also include a mold number.

Wheel Center Caps – A Groovy Finishing Touch For Your Automobile

Putting the Final Touch On Your Ride with Wheel Centre Caps

When it comes to putting those finishing touches on a car, producers have many methods of establishing their unique brand by putting their logo in a variety of disparate places on the interior and exterior of the car. One common choice is the center of the rim itself. This piece of metal is named a wheel center cap, and they tend to be the unfortunate victim of every bump and accident that cars can be submitted to.

A car with an absent wheel center cap tends to feel unfinished or incomplete. This is because the rims are uneven and the lug nuts are perhaps exposed; this can definitely give your car a regrettably shoddy appearance. The great news is that there’s a flourishing market of replacement center caps accessible for your automobile, ranging from custom-built wheel caps with a unique theme to original factory replacements. These small details, such as replacing the wheel caps, are the sort of finishing touch that betters your car’s resale value. Individuals subconsciously respond to these signs by thinking the car as well kept and in sound condition.

Many people, after doing a little bit of research, discover that most wheels – even those of different sizes – have cap mounting points in common. It might be a little droll to imagine setting Enkei center caps onto Suzuki wheels but they will hold. Most manufactured wheel caps are made from chrome moly alloy, but you are not restricted to only chrome as some are made from extruded aluminum or stamped stainless steel.

Beyond purchasing factory replacements, there are companies that will sell custom-built wheel caps – these can be decorative in a lot of ways. Some use licensed logos (like the logo of a favorite sports franchise or college campus), others are more artistic, covering religious or musical themes. Others can be personalized; it’s possible to get a center cap done up (commonly in ABS plastic) with almost any kind of artwork you want, say your initials, or a subject matter you believe in. (We’ve seen SUVs with “Holding back glaciers” on theirs…)

Before going for that custom look, however, you need to know not only the diameter of your car rims but where and how the caps attach before you hand over your money. With the internet you’re able to look up the model of car, the brand of tires, and find if they come with four, five, or six mounting nuts, if they simply twist on or have an applique system for the center cap.

Not only are wheel centre caps a means to keep your car looking its best, they’re also there to keep the wheels of your car from corrosion, which comes in handy when it’s time to change a tire. There’s little worse than having to struggle with corroded lugnuts in the rain while attempting to change a flat.
